The Brass Rail pays tribute to the GE Workforce

January 17, 2015 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

The year was 1972. And, in Downtown Ft.Wayne The General Electric Company was running three full shifts with plenty of overtime. Their workers were making good money and they spent some of it in the bars up and down THE BROADWAY CORRIDOR. One of those bars was THE BRASS RAIL. (To accommodate the third shifters we even opened at nine in the morning back then.) On Saturday, January 17th. THE BRASS RAIL and PBR will be celebrating this rich history by rolling back the price of a glass of Pabst to .35 cents. We will also have on hand our own resident GE retire’ Gary Guy who will be telling “true” tales of the glory days when the quality of work was high and beer was cheap. There will also be a “Blue Collar Beer ” tasting featuring other premium beers of the time like Blatz, Schlitz, and Hamms for your discerning pallets. So bring your stories of a time gone by and celebrate the rich history of GE with us and a cheap, cold PBR.
