SUMMARY:Tropa Magica with Los Lemons
DESCRIPTION:“Invigorating”\, “brilliant”\, and “charismatic” are just a slew of the adjectives used to \ndescribe Tropa Magica. “The East L.A. duo made a name for themselves by combining \nalternative\, grunge\, and psychedelic rock with cumbia” -Spin magazine. \n  \nHaving toured nationally and on multiple southwest and west coast tours\, they have supported \nestablished acts such as Bomba Estereo\, Molotov\, and comedian Felipe Esparza. The band has \nboldly and successfully taken on larger LA stages at venues such as The Microsoft Theater\, El \nRey Theater and The Hollywood Palladium. \n  \nIn 2018 and 2019 Tropa Magica performed at So-Cal festival favorites Desert Daze and \nTropicalia. At the end of 2019 the band self released a limited edition 7inch vinyl EP “Smells \nLike Cumbia” featuring Nirvana songs as cumbia renditions. \n  \nDespite the pandemic\, 2020 has been a fruitful year for the band. They wrote and recorded the \ntheme song for comedian Felipe Esparza’s new Netflix special and collaborated with the \nnotorious Foo’s Gone Wild on the “Foo Files Cumbia” track released earlier this year. The band \nhas partnered up as ambassadors with 805/Firestone Beer and is sponsored by Fender guitars \nand Ernie Ball. \n  \nTheir sophomore LP “Tripiando Al Infinito En Mi Recamara” has garnished appraisal by music \ncritics: \n  \n“…the psychedelic cumbia-punk that David and Rene Pacheco have pieced together over a \ndecade as Tropa Magica has coalesced into something sublime on their sophomore album” \n-Grimy Goods \n  \n“they’ve spread their wings sonically while losing none of the charisma that made them a hot \nitem at festivals…Tropa Magica’s new album\, while born in East L.A.\, will truly be a child of the \nworld.” \n-Buzzbands LA \n  \n(To learn a bit more) Tropa Magica has a short documentary that introduces the band nationally \non the well known media and news company “BESE”. \n

DESCRIPTION:$12 no-fee advance tickets on sale now \nThe Hooten Hallers are a band that was founded by guitarist/lead vocalist John Randall and drummer/ falsetto vocalist Andy Rehm\, who performed as a duo and were known for their raucous and often improvised live performances. Paul Weber briefly joined the band in 2013–14 on harmonica and tuba\, and wrote several of the group’s songs\, such as “She Used to Love My Music” and “Trouble Is”. Baritone and bass saxophonist Kellie Everett joined in 2014 and solidified the group’s line-up as a trio. The Hooten Hallers are a “high-energy blues\, soul and rock and roll band known for their gritty Americana roots music”. \nMucca Pazza is an intrepid interdisciplinary instrumental music ensemble from Chicago\, IL. Since 2004\, they have made a name for themselves playing alarmingly danceable music composed and arranged especially for their implausible instrumentation by band members – original music which defies classification but has bloomed out of manifold influences\, from surf to Stravinsky\, from Bartok to Zappa\, from Esquivel to Ellington. In addition to blaring trumpets\, slithering saxophones\, clarinets\, trombones\, and tubas\, the band boasts a drumline that seems to share a single nervous system\, an entire section of disparate instruments that don’t belong anywhere near a marching band (electric guitars\, accordion\, violin\, and yes\, a cello)\, and contains within its multitudes a cheer squad that performs absurdist cheers and asymmetrical\, impressively low-to-the-ground pyramids. No-one has ever been completely certain of the exact number of people in Mucca Pazza. Everyone can be completely certain that this group of weirdos belongs together!
