In an attempt to raise the spirits of a parched and sunburned city, local girl group “The Elky Summers” are planning a winter themed event in keeping with their seasonal parties of the past. “Last time we had a summer party in the depths of winter just to give people a place to have some fun and give them a break from the unrelenting weather” says drummer, Jackie Davis. “This time, it’s “An Elky Winter” adds bassist, Jana Johnson. “We’re gonna take over the ‘Rail and transform it into a winter wonderland, with lights and decorations.” “Snowflakes…” interjects Keyboardist, Oona Hackbush, “…lots and lots of snowflakes.”

The Brass rail will be offering frosty frozen drinks for sale and the entertainment will be as full blast as the air conditioning. Local faves, “Sparkle Teaser” will perform their brand of swamp infused stomp-and-roll while out-of-towners, “Brown Bottle Flu” make the trek from Bloomington, Indiana to chill out and make sounds as icy cool as a six pack. The Elky Summers will inject a set of toe tapping tunes and then Special Guest DJ, Mike Harris will spin the night to a close with a set of dance tunes guaranteed to induce a Brain Freeze riot.

According to Elky guitarist, Kay Gregg, “The heat has just been so brutal and the days are boiling and miserable, we want to make a space where the atmosphere gives everyone a break from the long, hot, cruel summer.” Show starts at 10:30. Door is $4, 21+
